Who are you?
I grew up in alternative boarding schools that taught me to be self-aware, challenge the status quo, and always strive to improve myself and the world around me. In college, I became interested in software and startups. These days I live in San Francisco.
Why write this blog?
I’m torn here. On one hand, I want this to feel like a casual conversation with friends, intentionally low-effort so I can focus my main efforts on other things, like building a startup (if I go down that path). On the other hand, I recently re-watched the Last Lecture and it got me thinking about my childhood dreams. One of them was definitely to be a writer. I’ll start with the casual conversation approach, and maybe the writer dream will manifest itself, if it’s meant to.
There is also an inherent joy in sharing writing with friends, just as there is an inherent joy in watching a movie together or sharing a meal. It’s a shared experience, albeit across space and time, and one that feels personal. Maybe someone will correct my flawed thinking, resonate with what I say, or send a poem that relates to what I wrote. That would be amazing.
I’m also interested in using writing as a tool to think more clearly.

Why “distant feather”?
I’m not sure, but I do like the image of a feather in the distance.
